To win in
AvP, you need to know about where you're fighting. With our
map reviews, you can find out which strategies work on each
map, what doesn't and work your way to victory.
Trapped
- by Gary Langridge
"This
map is far too limiting to get an enjoyable game out
of it, with only the first floor area to fight on.
The ground floor can be accessed but there is no way
to get back and no equipment down there so A marine
wouldn’t stand a chance down there, and a predator
would have to be very careful. The lighting is pretty
good though, but this doesn’t really help with the
map being so poor."

Stranded
- by Gary Langridge
"The
map has natural light that can’t be destroyed, if
a few more maps had this they would be a lot better.
The large space allows you to try out weapons better
than other maps."

Statue
- by David
Shipley
"Statue
is a medium-sized, three-level map meant for at least
four players. To get more in-depth, the map is made
up of many rooms and many corridors - these make excellent
places to dodge Discs; once that disc is after you,
just turn to one of the corridors or rooms, and you're
saved. In fact, this is the map where I learned the
tactic."

Jockey
- by Gary Langridge
"This
is a map that needs tactics, the less loss with the
biggest weapon you’ve got strategy will only leave
you with no ammo, and a bit foolish when the other
players look round the corner at you. The central
part of the map is always a good dueling area.

Hive
- by David
Shipley
"Hive
is a small-sized map meant for no less than three
players. Most of the map consist of corridors, but
there are two rooms that have... little surprises... The
first room is very dark - which is covered in secreted
resin - and boosts a Smartgun - this
room I call the "Dark Room".
The Smartgun in this room is ready to be taken by
anybody brave (or foolish?) enough to enter there."

Sewers
- by Gary Langridge
"It
is based around a big pipe around the outside with
passages to rooms and other areas leading off it.
It can get very dark quickly, and for players how
dislike playing in the dark, could leave the game
after about 2 to 3 minutes. If the lighting was better
this map would be a lot better."

Massacre
- by Gary Langridge
"This
map graphically is one of the best I have seen although
not the fanciest, it draws you into it a lot, which
really gives the map suspense especially with the
AvP music disc (CD2). The only real problem with this
map is it is pretty boring with 2 or 3 players. This
map can get dark with over use of the SADAR and grenade
launcher, but a change of vision mode and flares can
soon sort that problem out."
