AvP Requiem Trailer Guide

At
long last, the much anticipated trailer for Aliens vs. Predator
Requiem has arrived. The film is the second film to pit the
deadly extra terrestrials from the Alien and Predator film
series and looks to be everything fans had hoped for.
The
trailer opens with the Fox logo and a shot of a Predator ship
zooming through space. The words “In Space No One Can
Hear You Scream” show up.
It
cuts to a shot of the Predator ship crashing to Earth, followed
by the words “On Earth.” Two hunters are seen
looking at a fireball in the sky. The scenes conclude with
the ominous phrase "It Won't Matter" and a scene of a search
party in the dark woods with flashlights looking for the crash.
We then cut to a Predator vision mode as it scans the rescue
party, along a shot of two facehuggers emerging from what
looks to be a stasis tube.
The
next few scenes are of local humans looking distressed and
then a man and a boy being attacked by facehuggers in the
woods.
Things
shift into high gear with the discovery of a skinned human
hanging from the trees. Humans arein distress, as a scene
shows an Alien warrior on the rise.
A brutal sequence follows where a human is about to be attacked
by an Alien only to have the Alien eliminated by a burst from
the Predator's Plasma Cannon. The hapless human is sprayed
with acid blood and has his head dissolved.
We then cut to a scene of a human stating that the town is
completely overrun. Reiko Ayelsworth is seen grabbing a child
and running, which is then followed by a quick cut to a man
running only to be thrust back in mid air with two blades
in him. We then hear a person ask what the Army's evacuation
plan is followed by a scene of a military convoy arriving.
A
quick sequence follows of the Predator unleashing his Combistick
and mixing it up with the Predalien, as well as shots of the
military returning fire and the Predator;s vision mode.
A
nice sequence, which looks to be set in a school, shows what
may be an Alien Hive. It cuts to a girl being stuck to the
wall via the Predator's throwing star and then the Predator
using a whip to cut an Alien in half.
We
hear that there is an airlift in 30 minutes. Then we see a
cloaked Predator grab an unsuspecting human walking by.
The
next sequence has Reiko saying that the Army is thinking about
containment mixed in with footage of the Predator grasping
two Aliens in his hands...
...while
a jet fighter streams over the city and drops a bomb.
We
see Reiko firing a fixed machine gun in the rain...
...combined
with the Predator thrusting his blades into the skull of the
Predalien and in turn getting spiked.
There
is then a series of shots; an Alien menacing a waitress, an
Alien coming down what looks to be an air duct and then killing
a working with through his construction helmet.
A
series of fast and bloody clips, such as the Predator blowing
the heads clean off of two humans in a terrific spray of gore,
followed by series of graphic head-bites and impaling via
the Aliens.
The trailer then falls to the film’s title and release
date of Christmas with the website of avp-r.com.
The trailer hits a home run and is not afraid to show the
gore that fans have clamored for. We also get a battle in
a populated locale and what looks to be some very solid action
sequences and scenarios.
The directing duo of Colin and Greg Strause seem to have captured
the look and tone of the series, as well as made it contemporary
and fresh. They look to have a solid hit on their hands and
perhaps the best film in the series since Aliens.
