Everyone knows that Gheed's is the place to be for all your creature-slaying equipment. That's just an accepted fact, as I'm sure you'd agree. But, no matter how incredible my shop is (not to forget my amazing gambling services), there's always room for improvement. I've always had a certain fashion sense -- none, that is, and that's not what's changing. I know all you adventurers have been wondering why my wonderful column hasn't been updated consistently in a long while. Well, as always, there's tons of work to do around the shop, no matter how many assistants I hire. But, I like serving you victi... I mean customers, yes, customers, myself. And this leaves little time for imparting my wisdom around this metaphorical campfire.
Ack, it burns! Now, back on the subject. To be more consistent, I'll be here answering questions every single week from now on; less questions will be answered, but those that are chosen will be answered even more in-depth. And, those that aren't chosen for a certain week will be kept for following editions. No, I'm not going away! Onto more interesting and fun stuff:
As a special feature for this edition's introduction, I've decided to use a neat poem that PlanetDiablo fan Brent Dill submitted some time ago. Who knew that this bard would wander into my shop and sing this ditty while I was trying to sell some Gheedware(tm). It's set to the rhythm of a certain song from the classic musical "The Wizard of Oz." (Minor editing was done, although a few things are difficult to decipher still.)

The pygmies that appear in Diablo 2 were long sketched before Diablo 2 was even think of. I read in some site that the pigmies were based in some legends and the drawings that appeared of that legends were pygmies wielding big butcher knifes. So actually The Mummy 2 didnt copy "Blizzard" creation, actually they both copy a myth. (it seems that being locked for years in a monestary trainning to be a Paladin did pay off, I didnt improve my english skills, but I can throw stupid facts that no one cares to their faces....)
A small question is it true that the when you gamble for all the items you'll get at least a rare?

I agree completely, don't worry about that. Of course, Diablo II wasn't the first place where these pygmies were used, and Blizzard Entertainment definitely did not think them up completely. But, it is hilarious to see them in a major motion picture and compare them with those in Diablo II for some laughs!
It is not at all true that you are guaranteed to get a rare item from gambling. You will get a magical item most of the time, however. (You can never get normal items from gambling.) Due to game changes, it is now impossible to gain unique or set items from gambling, but items can turn out to be exceptional or elite (but only if the gambling result is a rare item -- you can't get magical exceptional or magical elite items from gambling)!

I'm a level 83 (pretty high huh?) Barbarian and all I have to say about you is thanks for giving me some great items in gambling! ,charsi thinks your great! here are my questions
1.Does charsi actually have some kind of attraction to the barbarian? she seems rather interested in him.
2.I've have actually been lucky enough to find two bad-ass swords called the The Grandfather and another one called "Doombringer" (which I can equip at the same time since Im a barbarian!my friend says that I'm really lucky since these weapons are exceptional elite, are exceptional elite weapons the highest level of weapons found on Diablo II,LOD?.
3.I'm trying to complete the "immortal king"set but I still lack one item,the helmet can you tell me what act should I go to search for it?
4.and finally can you tell me what are the chances of me finding the highest level of unique items?(I have this great urge to find them.
Thanks for your time!(personally though I really am impressed in your business skills to the point of wanting to become your apprentice,)(though I think people will be hesitant to approach a muscle-bound giant for some items.)

It was a pleasure providing you with the items you have just thanked me for. As long as you gamble regularly (several times a day for best results*), I'll be kept quite happy and rich. And, of course Charsi thinks I'm great! After a strange and terrible experience with some idiot named Druid_61, she came running to me to complain about his behavior and yell about our gender's strange qualities. Well, that wasn't too enjoyable, but I cooled her down and talked her into a nice date a few nights later. I doubt Charsi actually has much of an attraction for you Barbarians, too rough and smelly. She was probably just interested in tales and rumors of certain masculine features. Stay away from my girl!
Well, your terminology is incorrect, but both "The Grandfather" and "Doombringer" are elite items. Yes, "elite" is the best type of item that you can have, the most powerful group. The order is base, exceptional, elite. There's an exceptional version of every base item, and also an elite version of every base item. Normal items of the base group look exactly like those that are exceptional or elite (except in certain cases, with some unique elite and unique exceptional items), and they are different in that exceptional items have higher damage ratings or defense ratings and higher character statistic requirements, and even higher for elite items.
Immortal King's Will (the item you are looking for) won't be found in any specific Act, it can drop anywhere. The best place to look, of course, would probably be Hell difficulty Act V. This is the latest area of the game, where the highest level items can drop. Of course, it Immortal King's Will is an Avenger Guard, a base item, so being in Hell difficulty itself may not be necessary. You could also try trading for it with another player.
Unique item drops have become very uncommon, because Blizzard Entertainment wanted to make them more valuable and appropriate to the type of item they are -- unique! I can't give you an exact equation or percentage of chance, but they don't drop often, and this may be modified in later patches.
* Gambling several times each day gives best results for Gheed's funds.

The Chinese/English hybrid version of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction that you saw is probably compatible and, since it is advertised to be both in Chinese and English, there would probably be no problems using it with the North American version of Diablo II. Since you already bought the North American, English version of the game, you're set.

How's it going? Well I have a few questions for you. First off, the issue of making rune weapons. I need to know if battle hammers are equip with 4 or 5 sockets. Next. If I wanted to my a rune word, lets say ,Honor, would a 6 socket weapon, would it still work or does a rune word require the number of sockets only. For example if I wanted to use a thunder maul with 6 sockets, would that still make honor or do I have to choose a weapon with 5 sockets only, no more and no less. Next, As everyone knows, new unique have been unleashed on Diablo 2: Lod, if I wanted to find a item , like Vampiregaze, the unique grim helm. Is there a good act to find it in? I was thinking act 3 would be the best place to look for it. Our does it matter at all. Most likely its just you mf and luck.

I'm quite well, thank you. Recovering from this busy day of sales, and loading up the barrels of gold to ship off to my international bankers. The Battle Hammer is the exceptional form of the War Hammer, a one-handed Mace. This item type can only have a maximum of four sockets. The Flail/Knout/Scourge, another one of the one-handed maces, can have up to 5 sockets. All other single-handed mace types have 3 or less sockets maximum. Only the two types of two-handed maces can have up to 6 sockets. It does not matter what Act you are in if you're looking for unique items, but you'd have a much better chance of finding Vampiregaze in late Nightmare difficulty and any part of Hell difficulty.

Though certain gems (such as Skulls, especially Perfect Skulls) are cherished more than others, each of the seven gem types has an equal chance of appearing off a slain monster or opened chest/hidden stash/etc. Perfect Skulls, of course, are the most valuable type of gem for trading with other players (most of the time, at least), but that does not affect the drop rate of this type of "gem."
Be amazed and amused as Gheed provides more wisdom...
