On with some letters!
Hi,
I have an extra soulstone from mephisto, can that stone be transmuted with something via the
cube? (i.e. a weapon, armour etc..)
Well Jason, it seems that even the people at the GameSpy network need a little help now and again with Diablo as well!
Currently, we here are not aware of anything that can be transmuted by Mephisto's soulstone. Sorry.
I am a Palidin, I put most of my skill points in Zeal and thorns. I get to diablo, I hit him with zeal, and he lightnings me and I die instantly (I have like 20 lightning resist), I get more lightning resist, get better armor of Bnet, and fight diablo again, I kill him like this:
I fight diablo, I hit him a few times and i Die, I end up in town, I go through the waypoint with no equipment and run all the way to diablos lair. I pick up the stuff from my dead body and keep wailing at him. After a few deaths, I kill diablo. I know of the secert cow level, so i go to rouge encampment. when it finishes loading the encampment, the timer finishes. There is no way i can do the cow level before the game ends.
Paul
Well Paul, after you defeat Diablo in the game, yes it does roll the credits and you are victorious. Although, you can
still go back into the game at that difficulty and bring the cow level portal up. You don't have to do it right after you defeat
Diablo. You just have to defeat him on that difficulty in order to open the portal at a later time. Be careful about how
you do it though, because you can only visit the Cow Level one time per difficulty level. So if you've already opened
the portal and exited, I think you're out of luck.
Is there a way to change my name? if so please tell me
Thanks
Steve M.
Sorry Paul, after you've created a character on Battle.net or in open mode you cannot change the name of the character.
Although there may be a trainer of some kind that can edit the names of your characters, but that I'm not sure of.
Gheed:
My friends noticed this first, and I thought it was quite interesting until
Battle.net decides to do the same to me everytime.
At around 9:00pm PST (12:00am CST) Battle.net would often disconnect
everyone on the USWest servers (I don't play on east so I don't know).
After getting back on, I would often find a large waiting list to get in
games, and because of this, it has taken out much of my playing time.
Do the servers reset at that certain time because I swear it always happens
at that time EVERY NIGHT.
Thanks for reading.
Stryder
Stryder, we're going to get into some technical stuff right now, and I hope that I can explain it so everyone can understand.
The west coast server is hosted in California, where the major backbone of the area is Cerf.Net. Cerf.Net was just purchased
by AT&T, and they're doing major overhauling of the area's internet connections. Now, whenever there is major traffic online
on the west coast, this backbone may drop connections from time to time. This is just a temporary thing, and eventually will
be fixed. So don't worry about it. If you don't want these problems, you may want to try playing on the east coast server.
Gheed
What is the point of the cow level and waht do u get from it I think i
have beaten all the cows and i do not know what to do
thanks
JB
Well JB, all I can say about the "point" to the Cow Level is, LOOT. The Cow King actually will drop a rare or a unique
item every time he is killed, as well as magic items. The other NPCs in the zone will drop oodles of stuff for you to
bring back and show to all of your friends. So in short, there's really not a quest aspect to the level. Just a bunch
of free loot!
Hey Gheed. Jagz2000 here. I was wondering if there is a way to imbue more than once. I see other people on the internet doing it, so I want to know how. I like your new column.
Jagz2000
Always good to have a fan out there, remember people, you can email me at gheed at planet diablo dot gamespy dot com
and I'll get to your letters as soon as I can. Anyway, Jagz, technically you can only imbue an item one time after you complete the
quest. But, people who have open characters can edit their files and imbue more than one time. So in effect, they're cheating. But, everyone
needs to get their stuff somehow.
I killed diablo with wirts peg leg i put a topaz and a full skull in it
and it took me a long time and i almost died but i had 420 health and
203 mana i had light gothic armour with a really good shield i didn;t
think i could do it but i did and i am gooing back to do it again in
nightmare so wish me luck becasue i am going to need it Zak
I must say that you deserve some applause for that. It's a very impressive thing to kill a demon with a piece of wood. Good luck with
him on Nightmare level, you're going to need it.
I had a nice chat with a young sorceress today, and she pointed out to me
that Charsi actually imbues items with more power when you are a higher
level. She told me every critical level, the imbues are much more powerful,
and yield greater items. Is that true? Oh, and do you have any Lord's Mauls
of Quickness? I'd like one please.
Yes, that is true the percentage of the possible "more powerful" weapons goes up if you are higher level. Just like the
loot in the game on normal creatures when you are higher level. Personally I'd save the imbue until a later time so you can get
the fullest out of it. As for the Lord's Maul, well you'll just have to gamble for it. Although I do have to tell you that
gambling for an item is difficult, and that if you want a Maul, you shouldn't go chasing after a Tower Shield.
That's a wrap Ladies and Gents! Feel free to write me any time about what you want to know at gheed at planet diablo dot gamespy dot com.
Maybe you'll get your name on the famed PlanetDiablo site!
