Oh Mighty Merchant Gheed,

I am lost and need dierection and you seem to be the only one around so here goes.

Where can I find lists of skill with the effects each will have depending on the skill points attributed to them. I was once a mighty Paladin who slew wicked Diablo but soon my nightmares became real after that. I realised I had not honed my training and I lacked true direction. Your help would be appreciated so that I may renew my training, focusing on my skills and their effects.

I would also like any information on the effects of a complete set of items. I have searched for many a month and have thus failed to complete any set (or get more than 1 in any set) and seeings on limited funds (and the high costs of gampbling,) I cannot afford to risk my pityful few coins at your establishment.

I appreciate your opening-- respect of Gheed brings my wisdom at ease. (Wonderful rhyme, eh?) For finding the specific stats on each skill, you can visit the different character sections of PlanetDiablo, which include tables of the stats for several of the character classes. Unfortunately, they do not have the stats available for Paladin skills yet, however I hear that they will soon. To see the effects of a complete set, visit PlanetDiablo's Item Database.

I know you're a smart and cunning man, since you've swindled so much gold off adventurers who pass by your shop in hopes to gamble for that pair of Frostburns or a nice Stone of Jordan. (Just between you and me, I know you don't have any)

Now for a few questions...

Whenever I journey through hell, accompanied with a few adventurers, I am fine when I venture off by myself. The problem is, some characters who show up on my screen slow down my fps (frames per second) drasticially, causing a high number of frame skips, which results in a huge lag spike, and my unvenetual death. This happens quite often when Sorceress' show up.

My connection shouldn't be a problem, since my ping is usually around 100 and I am venturing through a ADSL modem. Does it mean it's my ATI Rage Pro video card that's causing the problems? Has my humble PII 333 lived it's last days? Or is it those "companions" that I travel with that cause my problems because they have a slower connection?

P.S. And yeah you did finally give me a pair of Frostburns, but that was AFTER I gambled my life savings, paid off your debt to the Mercedes dealership for the lofty 100 000 you spend on a S class, and bribed Charsi with enough gold so you could have some fun with her...

I'd rather call my source of gold "business" than "swindling," thank you. Oh, and don't tell anyone my secret! :-) Your speed troubles probably are only due to the power of your computer. A Pentium 2 at 333 Mhz is very low for today's standards, and ATI Rage Pro makes it even worse. Save up some funds and upgrade-- I would recommend at least an AMD Athlon 750 Mhz, or a Pentium III at 800 Mhz. Don't forget to buy enough RAM (at least 128 megabytes), and upgrade your video card as well-- I recommend either a NVidia Geforce or NVidia Geforce2-based graphics card.

Ah, Gheed. You old snippet you. Ever do I fondly remember my first attempt at mass gambling when I decided to honor your humble wares. Little did I know that your carivan was on the other side of town from the exit! Oh, what convenient locationing! In my desperation not to walk I splurged my precious SoJ-gambling money on Ancient Armor! What could have been a beautiful, beautiful set of +1 skills love was nothing more then +3 light. Damn your blackened heart! Elzix was far superior, in both location and pricing!

And now I am reduced to ASKING QUESTIONS of you! Well, I shall swallow my pride, draw a pentragram on the ground to protect me from your infectious greed, Gheed (why "doth" that rhyme, "praytell"?) Do not answer falsely--not only does my sanity rest in the balance, but the minds of all those upon Battlenet as well.

What, exactly, praytell, I beg you, is the drop ratio for Lances on Hell difficulty? How does it increase with more players? Which act is more likely to give me a Lance (i.e. which act is the item type "based" in?) You deal in shoddy black market goods every day (you probably buy the silks off Ebay for 8.75 and then charge 800,000 a pop at them), even you should know the power a Lance may contain. I beg you, nay, entreat you, to HELP ME FIND ONE OF THOSE STUPID %)(#*&)%(@##()*#%@)( POINTY STICKS! *Dusts self off* Ah, that was a bit of a tirade, give it no heed, Gheed...

Ah, Jerek.

You simple fool. The location of my shop is based on the amount of space available in the cramped Rogue Encampment, and I stole the best spot from Warriv just in time, anyway. Plenty of room for my merchandise! Hey, I can't be responsible if you waste your money on items you don't want... and stop complaining about Light Radius bonuses! It costs real, hard money to get those items imbued with those effects, and all you ungrateful characters should appreciate it. Maybe I'll raise my prices. As for Elzix, I have a one-word response: Hah!

Oh, now you turn the tables and expect me to provide you with my wisdom? How rude! Now, I can't provide you with the exact rate at which Lances drop on Hell difficulty, but the items dropped by monsters are always randomized, so you'll just have to keep killing more until you find one.
