With
all the expansion
hype, you almost forget to do the Mailbag!
Next Week's Topic Will Be:
Now that most of the
patching/fixing is done and over with (1.09 on the way),
what are you doing, yourself, to compensate with your
characters? We want to know!
I also encourage any and all your comments on anything
Diablo related. The Mailbag is here for you!
Yeh, to the great planetdiablo
team, etc etc, i found in a diablo site http://gl.diabloii.net/
a link that led to this patch from these german ppl
that suggested that in patch 1.08 Blizzard stuck the
ability to go 800 by 600 into the above patch (sorry
for weird sentences havent had sleep lately). u have
to dl this file and copy over yor patch_d2.mpq and then
add the registery information and then diablo 2 will
run in 800 by 600 resolution. mmm, big screen... anyway,
u might wanna have a look, just in case u havent heard
about it.
This is a well-circulated fact; however, we don't really
support it.

Subject: Assassin
Hey im going be the Assassin cause
i think that hand to hand combat kicks @$$ and she really
can kick @$$. The only thing that is going to really
piss me off is that everyone is going to be either "Druid"
or the "Assassin." I really hope that some people are
the old character so to all those people reading this
plz be someone else. ~PEACE I'M OUTA HERE~
Don't count on everyone being the Assassin and Druid.

Subject: patch 1.08
i loved d2 before the patch, now
the game is no longer fun. the characters ive been playing
for the last year are worthless. i was really excited
about the expansion pack, but now i won't b buying it.
what a waste of time!!
Pretty big assumption you made there. Change isn't always
bad. What would you rather have, 1) same old character-building
process as always or 2) an actual change up in the way
you can build up your character? I think the change
will peel off all those players who are stuck to the
same strategies.

Subject: Frenzy BUG
There is a Frenzy BUG, when you
use Frenzy and your sword goes broken - you can still
fight it and inflict the same damage as if it was repaired.
It lasts as long as you keep only Frenzying (not changing
to another skill). Do you consider it a bug or a feature?
Hell,
I'd consider this a feature were it not a bug :(

Subject: Hmmm...what are they thinking?
I'd really like to know what Blizzard
was thinking when they force fed this "mini-expansion"
on the vast CD2 community. Really, I would! Alot of
people have the theory that its a cheap ploy to make
people buy the expansion, at this point I can not disagree.
Unfortunatly for all who play CD2 there are now all
the monster types that are featured in the ex-pack,
but no new items to deal with them. It all seems like
a vendetta or a cruel joke. All the cookie cutter classes
are geting the biggest shaft right now, and alot of
people seem to like it. ( especially some of the folks
involved with the fan/websites ) I must ask if this
isnt a cheap ploy then what are you going to do to so
people can adapt? I will give the prime example from
my perspective, now mind you I am not a barb fan I have
no real "favorite class" but they seem to be hit the
hardest by this patch. You really give them NO option
to deal with the vast number of physically resistant
and the few physical immunes that appear in CD2 post
patch. Whats that you say? Berserk will work against
these monsters! It does but very poorly, I have a berserk
barb and I have encountered three physical immunes since
the patch. And I can say at least for me berserk is
not a viable option for these monster types. I have
slvl-20 berserk on this barb and even at that level
the zero def last long enough to guarantee a hit from
the monster, and just to make a point I tried it with
a sword and shield to ( he is a polearm master ) thinking
the shield would help...it didn't. and I don't want
to hear anything about dex blocking, this barb uses
a grim scythe and we all know about those dex requirements!
He has plenty to go around, and just so you know the
blocking was showing over the max for the shield 66%
versus 60%...dunno bug maybe? ( I have seen this on
some of my other characters as well ) I for one wasnt
too interested in the expansion, it just seemed a little
TOO much. Now I have been force fed it by Blizzard for
reasons unknown. What ever happend to the statment that
they would leave CD2 alone? I can understand the gambling
thing, no bigge there to me. But all the rest? They
have single handedly unbalanced everything in one patch
that appears to be totaly half assed on their part.
Alot of the things mentioned in the readme arent in
the game...and some that are in the game arent mentioned...what
the?! Come on Blizzard! At this point I can't say that
you don't deserve all the hate mail and flames you are
geting. This game is no longer fun its tedium and I
still wont buy the expansion.
P.S. Another good theory I heard...its a plot to get
people to stop playing so that tehy don't go broke from
all the server fees...heh.
I really have to ask, What where you thinking Blizzard?
This particular e-mail was sent before
the Blizzard server-side fix, but it sure catches that
post-patch release frustration.

Subject: latest patch for diablo 2
Hello, i just want to start be
saying i love Diablo 2.
in the latest patch rare drops are terrible and magic
find doesnt seem to help at all.
also why does it seem blizzard is pushing people to
party (by giving better drops and exp bonus)
i for one like to party at times,,,,,but alot of time
i just like to go off and play alone looking for rares
and just going at my own pace.
also about x-pack i find that 39.99 for 1 extra act
is too much to pay and i will not buy it at that price.
i will wait till price drops to 19.99 ,,,,,i am a married
30 male and cannot spend alot of money on software.
Making the monsters harder in the latest patch was good
it makes it harder,,,,,
BUT PLEASE INCREASE RARE DROP RATE
and it seems alot of junk like barbed clubs are droping
in hell/hell in flame river for example
who the hell would ever use/need a barbed club in hell
this stuff should only drop in normal level
i know this is long letter and might not get read....but
i am a blizzard fan at heart
Blizzard seems to be a firm supporter
of parties. As for the price, that's up to you - it's
your money.
