World Event.... i just found out that there is a small charm (unique) followd by the world event.. so i took a "little" peek in the patch2d.mpq and the is Good hidden but at last i found it and this world event is a diablo CLONE. In hell he is lvl 110 (sick) and have a spell called diablogeddon... hmm but on hell he most always drops the uniqe small charm but not on norm and night but he will make a good drop.... and u can only have 1 in your inv...
We've seen no evidence to support this claim... but there is a new unique charm in Version 1.10 which can only be found on the Realms. Of course, this World Event is also restricted to the Realms, and by rumor involves transmuting the unique amulet with a certain amount of Stones of Jordan. We'll have to see what Blizzard has to say about this... but they've been tight-lipped about the World Event since announcing the few details months ago.

Hello! I've be following the beta test on D2 1.10 patch. I really don't want to download it till it's final. Is there any clue or date that it will be finalized that you can say of.
At this point we really don't know. We've heard several different stories from people within Blizzard, but none of them are official. As the beta test has been running so long, we imagine that the final version will be released soon, but there is no confirmed date as of yet. Heck, developing the patch to the beta stage took well over a year.
Hmm, there's that odd sensation of deja vu. *cough*Diablo II's delayed release date*cough*

Really stupid question here but what does everyone have against Microsoft? Personally I think MS makes good products for the most part. I don't have any real probs with Bill [Gates]'s company other than the X-box controllers are as big as my face. /goes back to EQ till 1.10 comes out.
Well, I wasn't expecting that question.
The story goes that most people hate Microsoft because it's
a huge, evil company with a monopoly that gives it a stranglehold
on the wide world of computing. I'll try not to delve into
this issue too much, but it's safe to say that Microsoft has
abused this power in the past, many times, to stomp out its
competitors and to swallow up others. It has forced corporations
and governments into year-by-year or software edition-by-edition
upgrades of its software in order to maintain compatibility.
Then there's the fact that its operating system, which 95%
of computer systems run, is filled with bugs, holes, and other
exploitable flaws.
Need more reasons to hate Microsoft or, at least, despise
its practices and products? Just keep up-to-date on the latest
Slashdot news... or just pay attention to what world-wide justice departments are targeting the company for.

Subject: Dear Mailbag Editor
I have a big question. Is the E-mail to Gheed section coming back any time if so when will it be back. Last time I E-mailed a question was 5 or 6 months ago, unfortunatelly it stopped being updated and never had my question answered.
Also is there any mod or way to make diablo 2 true DirectX experience such as bettered graphics, 1024x768 resolution (no, I am not talking about the 800x600 LoD resolution I already play in)? If diablo 2 was improved in graphics most likely I would start to play it again, otherwise I stick to NWN [Neverwinter Nights].
To answer your first concern, Gheed has been taking a sabbatical for some time now, and it's certainly time for him to return. Unfortunately, I can't tell you when he will be back, and when he'll start answering all your lovely questions again. We hope he comes back soon, 'cause sooner or later we're cutting off his royalties!
Diablo II is what it is as of the Lord of Destruction expansion set, and won't be changing much at all graphically besides some minor new features in version 1.10. Blizzard will not be releasing a second expansion set for the game, and has mentioned again and again that the major features of the game are already present. We won't be seeing a nice 1024x768 resolution size, but you can imagine what the next installment of the series could have in store.
On the other hand, visuals aren't everything. Patch 1.10 (already in its beta form) makes a lot of changes to the game, and adds a number of great features that don't impact the game too much on the purely visual side, though there are a few very cool character-based visual changes. Check out the beta patch changes list for a massive listing of all the new and modified game elements.

I was wondering, when is the finished 1.10 patch coming out? We are looking at this year 2003, correct?
We'd love to give you an exact date for version 1.10 final's release date, but unfortunately Blizzard hasn't made an official statement. We surely hope that it will make it before the end of the year...

Will the patch be on the game or do we have to go to the site?
I'm assuming that by "on the game" you are referring to the Battle.net auto-patching process which occurs when Blizzard loads a new patch to Battle.net servers. This will, as it has been in the past, be available for the new patch despite its size. For the same reason, though, it may actually be easier to download it from an alternative location, like (plug) FilePlanet.

Subject: Too many hackers
Hello. I have been playing Diablo II with the LOD expansion for almost 3
months now. I like the game very much. It is full of adventure. Yet I see
more people getting hacked every day. I, myself, believe i just got hacked
today. I had some very valuable gear, so of which were gifts from new
friends I have made. I am very angry. I think the person who did the Hacking
changed my password. I have tried everything i could to figure out any other
possibility but that is the only one. I would greatly appreciate any help
you can give me. I will tell you some of the items I have lost in this
process.
- Level 78 Necromancer- Skullders,Soj,Pus Spitter Siege Bow,Lidless Bone Shield
- Level 30 Barbarian- Various swords and some sigons.
- Level 10 Amazon- Some nice bows and skill gear
There are 5 more characters which between them have some very valuable gear
i have gotten and had to work very hard for. I would hate to lose everything
I have because of some gutless person who doesnt want to put in the time to
get the gear that I have come to find.
Unfortunately, we can't help you out... other than to advise
that you maintain good practice of using complex passwords
for your Battle.net accounts, don't install hacks on your
own computer, and use some sort of software or hardware firewall
for protection. Hackers often use "packet sniffer" programs
on vulnerable computers to find out passwords and other personal
material. According to Blizzard Entertainment, programs claiming
to be Diablo II hacks are often really just viruses,
trojans, or other software that leaves your computer even
more vulnerable.
Additionally, on Open Battle.net, your characters are much more vulnerable to being modified by other players using hacks, as these sorts of programs on the Realms usually have to actually hack into the Realm servers themselves to work. Another good piece of advice, going by this rule, is that playing on the Realms is often safer for you and your characters. It also protects you from most methods of cheating.
