Planet Diablo Mailbag

Let the madness begin!

After pondering quite some time as to why my stomach rejects Doritos, coffee, and tofu given in a simultaneous dose, I decided that the Planet Diablo Mailbag should be a bit more interactive. Therefore, in addition to text responses, I will be incorporating some visual aids in hopes that the reader can take away something rather positive. Now, onto the games...

Next Week's Topic Will Be:

Which Act, in your perspective, holds the most interesting environment and why (Disregarding the fact that Diablo lies in the last Act)? Are there particular fiends or terrain features that particularly catch your eye each time you traverse through it? Do specific creatures look especially spooky? Go ahead, spill all!

Send us your thoughts!

Now on to the feedback on last week's topic in which we asked
you to share any special techniques you used or some particularly entertaining experiences when confronting Diablo! Here's what you guys had to say:

ok, when he comes out of his hiding place, start talkin like " Let's do this the humanly way, demon vs man, one on one, mano vs de-mano" and take of your weapons, and just beat the ****ing $#!+ out of him, with your fist, and make him fell it too, cast like Zeal if your Pad, you;ll be like goku, get in his face dont run away, SMASHSMASHSMASHSMASHSMASH ahh Diablo dies, there or just, generally get it his face and feed it to him. hehehhehheheh

Welp, I have an even simpler method as depicted below:

First, you do a little Emmit Smith shake and bake just to fool him, and then do a traditional Jackie Chan walk-around and end the move with a final blow to the rear. Repeat as deemed necessary.

Final result:

View as Diablo gives out an agonizing shout of defeat.

Battling Diablo

As a silly Barbarian who loves to kill things, I find myself taking brief hiatuses from nightmare when I'm having problems to romp through Act IV normal and kill Diablo a lot... One of the most entertaining times was recently after gaining some of that lovely life steal from a rare ring... Instead of my usual pattern of "thwack, thwack, thwack, red lightning run away, thwack, etc..." I got to say, "thwack, thwack, thwack, red lightning, thwack, all my health back, thwack," etc. Nothing can be more entertaining than making the Lord of Terror your bitch... aside from maybe going back to Act IV normal after beating the game in Hell and putting some serious one-hit, one-kill smack down or something... maybe not. You're probably sick of this actually rather boring and really not impressive story, so I think I'll just go thwack some more stuff (gross). Keep up the good work on your site, and may you never eat yellow snow or kittens

Thwack. Simple strategy. Though I'm disturbed that you have an obsession with "thwacking."

the best way to beat diablo or any of the bosses and sub-bosses is the the blood golem while using the iron maiden curse. expecialy when some a*****e sub-boss want to curse your golem with amplify damage...very quickly turn that guy into paste
.
Hmm. You could have gotten a wee bit more into detail...

Duel Story

Hey Root. [Bonjour!] I'm going to tell you one of my strategies for beating Diablo, at least with the Barbarian. Well, here goes...

Any good Barbarian has at least 3 points in find potion, which is a great skill. It becomes amazingly good in Acts 3 & 4, where you get Greater Healing Potions and Full Rejuvenation Potions when you use it. I used it A LOT before I went to fight Diablo, and it took me forever but I eventually had a 3-row belt full of Full Rejuvs, and enough in my stash to replace that belt twice. I am attaching the picture of that with this email [never got it], so all can see my fanaticism. Also, a Barbarian should have any 1 of these skills at a moderate level before fighting Diablo: Leap Attack, Frenzy, or Whirlwind. They're all very useful against him. And I suggest having A LOT of lightning resistance, either with items or the natural resistances skill. And that's it. Enjoy.

Sound advice. Salutations for providing the first piece of coherent advice!

Subject: An Idea to help against cheaters

I have been an online gamer for many years, from quake to whatever. I also highly recommend Diablo2 to my pals as it is one of my favorites. I did enjoy Diablo1 for a while till I seen all these cheat trainers come out.. It spoiled the game. (for everybody) But now the same thing is happening to Diablo2.

So, In almost all games I have played online, the person who supplies the server had the ability to kick and/or ban any players from their server. In Diablo2 Open battlenet, cheating is running rampid. Not only do people beef up their characters but then they want to pk everybody.. bringing the gameplay to a halt.

What if there was a feature that allowed the server admin to kick or ban any player that is suspected of cheating or is downright not welcome in that server. That would allow a person to still use battlenet to publisize their server and give them some sort of control over cheating.

If they can do it in quake, q2, q3, UT, and almost all other online games.. why not Diablo2 ?

btw: If you could make a patch for Diablo1 that allowed that feature .. I think that would make many ppl happy as well.

Many have proposed it, but to no avail...maybe some day noble adventurer. For now, I, Mailbag Champion will serve as a ruthless vigilante for your cause.
