It's
wishful thinking - I know, but the period in between
Halloween and Thanksgiving is so dull in both gaming
and life (oh come on, you know it's true!) that one
starts longing for something to pass the time. Luckily,
we have Spam. Yum. I have a 240 unit reserve on call
which should hold me through the rough period in between
holidays.
We also have the Mailbag...which proceeds herein:
Next Week's Topic Will Be:
What's the Battle.Net status now
in comparison to when Diablo II first came out? Some
say factions have formed, while yet others say it has
pretty much stayed the same. What do you think?
Now onto feedback from last week's
topic in which we asked you to share your opinion
on who you would probably play as in the upcoming Expansion
Set.

Subject: Character Class
I'll probably end up being the
Assassin. I really have no idea why, but the Druid just
seems like an idiot. I don't really care to be a Necromancer
that raises animals. The Assassin looks pretty cool
because of those X-Men, Wolverine-like claws. I mean,
c'mon? Those are so great! I'd totally love slashing
up some Fallens.
Speaking of Fallens, what is up with that voice?! I
get a twitch under my left eye and I strange urge to
eat bowl after bowl of Froot Loops whenever that voice
sounds. You think if this game had, say, a disco room
or some reason to flash colors across the screen and
play the Fallens' voice at the same time, they could
cause small children to have severe seisures? Hmm...
I think I've kind of gotten off subject and into a scary
topic here, so... I'll end off saying, watch your back,
Fallens, I got claws!!!
Mmm,
Froot Loops and Disco...

Assassin! What else? I see myself
as the assassin mainly because I love hand to hand combat
and I think that the assassin will probably have some
really cool abilities. Also, it will be a much different
style of play in comparison to my Amazon and Paladin
(level 17 and 47 respectively)
Fair enough.

Subject: voting/more
Hi!
I'm under 18, but I still want to vote. Will PlanetDiablo
sneak in a ballot for me? Go Ralph Nader!
Also, I'm having some trouble with Diablo II. The Realms
won't let me use trainers! What's up with that? I want
to pump up a level 99 Barbarian, since it would be so
1337! PKing is fun too. I think Blizzard Entertainment
should change the hostility-party system so that you
can go hostile up to within one inch from another character,
because it makes it so much easier to backstab an honest
player-- you know how everyone loves that!
*cough*
.
Where are your manners? Don't mock people...
1) INCREASE the exp gained when people party. I find
alot of times when people join 8-player games for exp,
they'll leave the game if someone else is hunting in
the same area. They will then either join another game
or create a new one. This definately contributes to
lag as the servers have to continually create new games
and add or remove players from existing games. If Blizzard
INCREASES the EXP gained so that people gain MORE exp
when they party...there will be less incentive to play
solo and more incentive to play coop (this should also
reduce random PK'ing cause PK's will think twice before
going hostile against an entire group of players).
2) Make the magic/rare drops INVERSLY PROPORTIONAL to
the number of monsters left in the Act or Game. If the
last 1 or 2 monsters are guaranteed to drop a rare,
people will stay in the game much longer. This will
definately help reduce the lag on the realms as people
will generally stay longer in existing games and have
less incentive to continually create new games.
3) Allow the creator to boot people from games (been
suggested before, and I agree with this). There's nothing
worse than some moron who ruins your game by being an
idiot (bugging you for free stuff, stealing your drops,
continually going hostile/unhostile, continually pasting
the same long string of text repeatedly thereby filling
up half your screen, etc, etc, etc).
a) INCREASE STASH SIZE
b) Make stash SHARABLE between all characters for a
given account (transferring items is a pain in the butt).
c) If A. or B. can't be done, then how about multiple
stashes?
d) Create a password-protected "locker" that you can
store stuff in and then retrieve with any character
that knows the password.
6) Create a PK ladder. Dunno why...would just love to
see this, though!
7) Give more server cycles to HC games. There is nothing
worse the losing a HC char to lag. If HC games had a
higher priority on the server, there should (theoretically,
network issues notwithstanding) be fewer HC lag-deaths.
A PK ladder? Hmm. Kind of paradoxical--as they only
see thrill in killing the unknowing..but hey, it's your
fantasy, not mine.
