I quite enjoyed the Natalya 10x mod. Why? You ask? Well, mainly because I could take a quick little jaunt around and pick up unique items and quick levels after excerting almost no effort at all. Unique items drop so much in fact, that the first time I put down Bishbosh he spit out the tarnhelm. The second time he spit out the infernal torch, and the third time, the little bastard only dropped a few full rejuvenation potions. Boy was THAT a letdown. Of course, it didn't help that this version of Bishbosh had around rougly 10,000 hitpoints, that fact made him quite irritating. About halfway through the three minutes of constant battle, I realized I was getting a bit bored, the only thing that kept me pouring bone spirits into Bishbosh was the hope that he'd drop something truly amazing, well, I've already told you how THAT turned out.
It is in this aspect that the Natalya 10x mod shows one of it's greatest weaknesses, at 10x the health, the monsters become excessively tedious. This could have been remedied in a way akin to TDDMOTB, with variable difficulty / payoff levels, but instead Natalya 10x is locked at 10x the hitpoints, 10x the experience, and 10x the drop rate. Even with it's Flaws however, the mod is still quite fun to play, and the amazing drops are almost worth the irritation of the slow beatings you are forced to impart upon the uber-monsters from hell.
But my main complaint with the Natalya 10x mod, is that it features no monkeys. You see, monkeys are very important to ANY type of gaming, and without simian influence, I just don't have much fun. Oh and for the people who thought it would be funny to E-Mail red_death@planetdiablo.com with 'Death Threats' Thanks a whole bunch, now I need new pants. Bastards.
Highs: Lots of Levelups, Fire Golems, Neverending supply of unique items. Lows: No really new stuff, It doesn't feature monkeys, I mean, come on, they rule the planet people.
