As of current, Emperer Stumpy is on banlock because Acolyte believes that his spam/chat is a bad example on the fellow posters here. Stumpy is Emperer on the forums, and many people do not like that, but his actions affect fellow posters. Since I have been here, I don't think there has been any poster quite like Stumpy. I really thought that his apology was half assed. Even though his brother did it [which is not true -Ed.], he really didn't apologize; he just said that he was sorry for what he did. I really don't know why people like Madanark and Acolyte make such a big deal about it. He is on lock down until further notice.
We have been advised to ban or warn all people who have the tendence to spam/chat like Stumpy. Currently I have two people on my list: Dolmanic and Ely (Though Ely isn't as spamming that much anymore, he is still on the list.) Dolmanic has added a new thread to get away from the spamming of older threads. This is much appreicated by the Moderators so that old threads will not be bumped up and I know that I get confused a lot about old and new threads.
With nearly 7,400 members, the state of the forum is strong. In the past several months, we have seen the forums evolve from a wonderful resource for long-time Diablo players to debate and discuss the Expansion to that of a community of friends seething with information.
The volume of needed advice for new players has decreased, but that doesn't mean that newer members aren't finding the help that they are looking for. I would like to recognize Joe and Pyrolocutus for their outstanding effort in answering questions and just being a great addition to these forums. Joe has over 500 posts, and actively seeks out questions to answer in the Newbie Area. Pyrolocutus has nearly 1,200 posts and also takes part in helping out the youngsters to the game as well as being an important part of the Off Topic community. A place where friends meet to discuss life and events outside of the realm of Diablo.
We are sort of on a downward turn in a big cycle for Diablo II. The lack of recent changes to the game has caused the need for new information to decrease, at the same time allowing everybody to get to know each other better. However, when/if a new patch is released, and changes are made to the game, the forum will once again light up and become perhaps the best reference for news, information, strategy, and more. Oh yeah....we also love to hear your rants!

I want all Americans and fellow world citizens to know that the Planet Diablo Forum is in very good shape. I know this after having to consider this assignment. What I rediscovered that is supported by DJ's and Warlord's contributions is that there is a huge information source available to the person truly willing to look for help.
If you are wondering what I am talking about, ask yourself these questions: "When did I last browse the forum? When did I not start my day in active topic mode but instead browsed down the list of 26 topic categories and think what might I find here to help my game playing?" Sure some of you are not in need of help--then you should be helping others, correcting innacuracies or providing new insights.
This forum has a wealth of knowledgeable players, the best in the world regarding this game we all love. Search them out and learn more. Do not stay glued to active topics. Explore the infrastructure of what is the foundation of a great forum.
I have chosen to recognize two posters who present well their ideas in the PvP topic. No, I hate PKers myself and choose not to duel. But many love it and I strongly recommend the guidance provided by Grand Failure Anthem and PhilG. This is not to say that there are not other excellent contributors but I happened to notice these two first.

My poll about what charge-ups your Assassins use was going very well. It seems your top favourites are Phoenix Strike and Tiger-Strike and only a few people use 2 or more at once. And, of course, the good old question "Two claws or a one and a shield?" has been discussed again.
General Discussion:
Hammerman is working on a Diablo II drop calculator, I'm really looking forward to it's release. There was also a pretty interesting conversation about the best magical enhancement.
Others:
As Dj mentioned, if you feel like smashing your heads enter The Arena, but read the rules on page one first. And if you want to get drunk in a medieval tavern, just go here.
