Well the Forums have been a happy place these past few days. Good spirits abound! Stop in and check out the Off-Topic Forums! The Arena has topped 1,000 posted replies! Make sure you read page one before you post. Also I found "Top 3 Games of your life!" quite interesting. I made the mistake of listing more than 3 games and it was pointed out to me ... heh, heh. D'oh!
If you haven't noticed, the latest patch 1.09c is out. There has been a lot of concern and talk over Blizzard's automatic survey of your computer but as is pointed out -- it's optional! Weigh in with your thoughts here: This new patch ticks me off and 1.09c Is Out.
I would like to take a moment to thank Arkady Tspesh for all of his/her contributions! Arkady Tspesh has continued to provide good leadership and direction. Arkady's posts have been very helpful! Thanks Arkady!
And for my last thought - Be careful with trading on or off the realms. There is a trade hack currently in practice. For more information please consult with Blizzard Technical Support.
Sanity returns.
I am glad to see the number of posts lowered this week. It supports my belief that the spamming population is declining here and that is good. I am able to read a larger percentage of posts and I like that. Most things this week with one bloody exception have been positive. Some cling to the thought of negativism albeit more subtly than in the past.
I have been outpaced by a good friend who recognized the thread I liked best this week only that he posted his earlier. There is only one way to deal with that kind of defeat. Point the autograph seekers to a thread Stomper posted. That will keep him occupied for a while.
Does Diablo II and Lord of Destruction really ruin people or does it make you better by letting you vicariously be a hero? I would submit that it is predominantly the latter. By being able to achieve a relaxing fill of LoD each week there are likely countless hundreds of people not drinking or driving or both because we do not have the car version out yet. I hear there is not one planned, luckily. The benefit you achieve by being "addicted" is not yet appreciated by your significant other but give it time. Ask them in six months from now whether they want you to stop playing at home and to go out at night with your friends. You are in fact doing them (or your parents) a favor by being responsibly at home and safe. There, I feel better now knowing I have rationalized my addiction. Back to the game.
Until next time...

I am not sure if this person wished to be named, but I did want to address something I said in last week's State of the Forum address. He made a very valid point, and it is something that I feel needs to be looked at again on my part.
First, in last week's address, I stated that in 6 months nobody would remember those who left the forums referring to the recent outbreak of adolescent behavior. This was a statement that I shouldn't have said, and looking back, one that I certainly don't agree with. It is true that many of you put in your time here on the forums, be it helping out newer members or participating in the OT community among others. The time and effort you put in is much appreciated, and it is the long time members that bring a sort of flavor to the boards. Sure there will be those that disrupt the community, but usually they end up being their own enemy. For anybody who took what I said last week to heart, I apologize.
That being said, I wanted to use this time to recognize all of you out there that have put in quality time on the boards and just say for the record, you make this thing work. A majority of you are great individuals that really care about the Diablo gaming series and its fans. I truly appreciate your efforts and what you do everyday.

In The News!
Not much this week. Patch 1.09c offically released. Love or hate, most people hate it, and Blizzard has anounced that they will make a patch 1.09d to cover up the mistakes [certain errors for macs. -ed.].
I noticed that there has been a lot of trading going on this week, and that many people are trading big time. I don't think the economy of Diablo II is that great; things are not what they use to be, and right now things are dirt cheap except for Stones of Jordan, which are usually high.
There have been a lot of dumb topics lately, on the Off Topic forum; it seems like things haven't been going strong with this forum. I don't think people get it when they come to the forums that the Off Topic forum isn't everything to the forum. Lately, there have been a lot of people coming in and spamming their butts off; it is really immature, and frankly, irrelevant to the best of the forums.
There has been a lot of flaming between the PlanetDiablo forums and other forums; just to let everyone know, please do not come to our forums and talk about how your forums are great. If you want to advertise your forums, do it on your own time and space!
I would like to make a Formal Apology to Total_Immortal; sorry, I read your Korean Speak topic wrong, I thought it was Korean bashing. I know you're a good guy so keep up the good work.
I have nothing to say about anything else this week; as I said before not much has been happening so nothing else for me to say.
