I am appreciative of Mrs. Parish who taught me English in the 12th grade. She is retired now but also taught my brother in whose intellectual shadow I feel occasionally cloaked. But there is perspective. Rest assured that somewhere on earth, maybe in your own family, there are people you feel smarter, cooler, dumber, more stuck up or less so. Now if I could get back to my point about Mrs. Parish who tried to instill a need to not be mundane in writing.
This article is about the state of the forums this past week but as usual (thanks to training by teachers like her) I desire to bring you more than a reiteration of which topics got posted as new or discussed the most over the past week. I realize the importance of just getting the straight facts at times but want to provide something different. That is why I try as hard as I can to give a theme for what I am presenting in reiterating those topics.
I garner for sale, gift or use over 50 unique items a week. Many are doubles and some prevent the need of swapping Tal's Death Mask between my 11 characters. It is obvious from the following threads that most people believe magic findom to be Mephisto runs. I find nightmare as productive as hell and avoid the occasional misfortune that can befall many people with under 1,000 life as all who have tussled unexpectedly with champion undead Stygian dolls has learned. See the list below as everybody points out magic find Mephisto runs are what everybody is doing.
Update. I just got my first buriza, 166. Yes a mephy run. I use just 3 items with MF: Chance Guards, Tarnhelm and Goldwrap.
Until next time...
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction was voted "Top Multiplayer Game" in Yahoo! Online Magazine. This year, the game had such big success with its Expansion Set coming out that maybe we players can be expecting a new Diablo II Expansion or a third game in the series! [Don't get your hopes up; that's not likely, at least in the coming few years. Blizzard North is supposed to be working on a completely new project. -Ed.]
The Harry Potter Mod has lost it's main programmer, Larias. Now, I am currently looking for a new programmer and have e-mailed a couple programmers; no reply yet, so if anyone knows one, please tell them to e-mail me.
Blizzard has produced a warning to all realms players that the Trade Hack has been disabled but traders should still be cautious when they are trading.
The Baldur's Gate Mod for Diablo II combines Baldur's Gate and Diablo II, and for all you fans out there, it is really good. I have started to play it; I went into the Den of Evil at character level two, and came out at character level 6. There are a lot of unique monsters inside the Den of Evil and the normal exceptional and elite items drop in normal but they have lower stats, much lower stats. I really enjoy the mod, but you might want to find some armor and have a lot of potions handy when you play.
Strategies
There is a new Amazon strategy out there that combines the unique Amazon skills into one hybrid Amazon: Bowa/Javazon! [Jabowazon? -Ed.] From what I have heard, you need to put some points into Javazon and Bowazon skills, and then alternate between the two of them when you are fighting. An example would be Lightning Fury with a group of cows and then Multiple Shot to finish them off. It doesn't sound too bad, I might have to go try it, I think it will be great.

Well, well, well...
I'd like to take a moment to talk about threads that have appeared recently regarding Baldur's' Gate and Diablo 2.
I seems that the people at PlanetBaldursGate have been getting hate spam from people who play Diablo II. We here at PlanetDiablo do not advocate such activities and strongly urge our members to refrain from such "Hate Spam". Our boards suffered a little from reprisals of this spam. Fortunately myself and the other moderators were able to catch this quickly and deal with it.
I repeat -- we do not and will not tolerate spam, in its variety of forms. Please see this:
Should there be a SPAM board and Dissapearing posts? Specifically, see Acolyte's response to this latest topic.
However - back to my main topic of Baldur's Gate and Diablo 2. I offer thanks to Historian on Diablo for this topic DS, BG & D2. This is a good discussion topic (I weighed in quite heavily), so please stop in, check it out, and give your opinions on the comparison. But please, no crass remarks or stuff like "BG SUCKZ!" Those kinds of remarks can be better left at home.
All in all, it's been a great week! Come on into the forums and check it all out!

Another week has come and gone on the PlanetDiablo Forums. This week, there were two issues that seemed to come up again on a semi-regular basis. This first concerning spam, and the second concerning our friends over at PlanetBaldursGate.
On the topic of spam, it seems as though a select few are in favor of some sort of spam area where they can feel free to post whatever they like via word games, etc. What they fail to see is that this particular forum is a resource. A vast majority of this site is dedicated to Diablo-related discussions, be it the various character classes, trading items, discussing the game in general, Diablo Mods, Classic Diablo, Hellfire, etc. Yet everyday, there are more posts in the Off Topic area than there are for the rest of the board.
Many of the long time members enjoy discussing other things besides Diablo. I am in full support of this. In fact, I created a topic discussing MMORPG's this week. There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting to know one another and talking about life outside of Diablo. But it has to show some sort of thought, and most of the PlanetDiablo Forum members do not want spam anymore than the moderators do.
This site is a resource. Unlike typical fan sites, you hear it here exclusively from the players themselves. The Off Topic area allows you to find out more about one another besides the one thing everybody here has in common, that being Diablo. I encourage Off Topic discussions. I find them very interesting to read. However, spam is pointless and offers nothing to the community.
Next, the PlanetBaldursGate issue. To be frank, there really isn't an issue. A couple people from both areas have posted on each other's sites with rather derogatory comments about Diablo or BG. But that's it. It was a couple of people. The only thing that we at PlanetDiablo can do to make sure that future disruptions do not take place is handle the posts that come here, and to a lesser extent work with the individuals here that post these kinds of remarks over there. It is really a small issue that has the potential to turn into a larger one.
This site continues to be the greatest resource for Diablo II, in my opinion, around. Here you can find quick and accurate information about the game. Here you can engage in meaningful conversations with other people that share your passion for the Diablo series.
Until next week...
