I would like to take an opportunity to recognize one of the "V.I.P. status" members of our forum, *Cryptic* Goten. Cryptic is sometimes misunderstood; no, scratch that. I seem to misunderstand him most of the time. OK, maybe not most of the time, but frequently! (heh, heh.) Cryptic, along with a myriad of other members, is a regular poster and can be found inhabiting the seedy underworld of our Off Topic forum. Here you can not only meet people like Cryptic, but other notables like or Zaxcon or Xisor! (No, its not necessary to have X-, Y- or Zs in your name) Come on in and join the fun; it's the holiday season and don't forget your spirits!
I'd also like to say thank you to all the people who have continued to support the community and forums. The forums have been thriving of late with good posts, good comments and good questions. Dang things are good!
These three topics have piqued my interest this week and deserve some attention I feel.
Free enterprise is this week's best topic. Os, formerly Arkady (currently Arkady19 on U.S. West) has an excellent idea to add some spice to the forums. That is just one beauty of living in a computer age; Get an idea, like character journals, and it becomes a new enterprise overnight. The logistics to which I have referred to previously, in post #32, are not limited and with Stomper and Os working on them not insurmountable. But, I again call for some patience as this new enterprise gets its feet wet. Anyway, if you have not read about it, I strongly encourage you to do so.
Now, on to sex. Deathwing has brought to bear the classic male versus female issue: Which gender is better at video games. Many have responded. In general and I say in general again as I am not one for stereotyping but I do approach things with historical perspective, guys are better at video games. This I feel is because more guys like video games, not because of any innate skill. But they play more and as you all know the more you study a game the better you get. Nonetheless as I noted in my response, my three girls, Caroline, Katie and Elizabeth all enjoy playing what my 4 year old calls 'ablo. And I acknowledge that given equal practice or playing time that women will fair as well as men. Put your two cents into the thread if you have not yet.
Finally, less than a week to Christmas and all who have not written Santa, do so at least tell us in this thread by NoSkillz what you hope to get for Xmas.

Happy Holidays! Though I don't celebrate at all during this time of year, it is the time of giving, sharing, and caring! Hmmm... next week is Christmas Eve!
Well, not much has been happening lately. The usual happens; Blizzard released a new patch, everyone hates it, and Blizzard gets off its lazy behinds to try and fix it. Maybe Blizzard should just fix up everything all in one patch. [In a perfect world. -ed.]
I have noticed that there have been a lot of people switching from Javazon to Bowazon, vice versa, and also the new hybrid Amazon, the Jabazon (I guess thats what they should call it. It makes more sense to call it that. [I like "Jabowazon" better. -ed.]). Personally, I like the Bowazon, but don't like the Javazon too much because I am not a big melee gamer. I like to keep my distance so I won't get hurt by monsters, because I usually have a "tank" or "meat blocker" with me, I usually have two or three.
Bowazon Equipment:
- Helm: Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest, Vampire Gaze, or M'avina's True Sight.
- Gloves: Frostburn, Cleglaw's, or M'avina's Icy Clutch, or 20% IAS gloves.
- Armor: Twitchthroe, Crow Caw, or M'avina's Embrace.
- Weapon: Windforce, Buriza, or M'avina's Caster.
- Belt: Goldwraps, M'avina's Tenet or Gloom's Trap.
- Boots: Treads of Cthon, War Travelers, Silkweave.
I would suggest this equipment if you are trying to make a great bowazon; try this equipment out with the strategy I suggested back in State of the Forum #6, and you should have a pretty effective character.
I have noticed that I am not the only one who is very tired of Diablo II. If you are sick of the game, I would just go to a whole different genre of gaming, like racing or strategy games. Civilization III is probably my favorite game right now, and it is very fun, but also very time consuming. However, the game is very much worth it.

This week, the Off Topic forum's sub-community has been buzzing. As of late, there have been two great topics that I believe are a must read; the first is asking members of the greatest gaming community in the world how you PlanetDiablo junkies celebrate X-mas in your country, or even within your own family. That topic was created by Quazo and can be viewed here. Also, we don't want to limit this to only those who celebrate X-mas. Almost all religions have some reason to celebrate and feast this time of the year, so even if you don't celebrate X-mas, tell us how you spend your time on the holidays!
The second is a question that came up, asking the members what they think we, the moderators, talk about in the PlanetDiablo Staff room. You can vote and add your comments. Thanks to Pyrolocutus for asking the question some never dared to ask!
