Modding: Mods and Development

The foundation of the Action genre is its mod communities. Game series' like Quake, Half-Life, and Unreal thrive and maintain popularity and sales not only because they are great games, but because of creative fans that bring whole new experiences to players through their work. Where would Half-Life be today without Counter-Strike?

This standard applies to other genres, including hybrids like the Diablo series which happens to be an Action-RPG. There's a reason why most fans recognize names like Varaya and Khan.

Blizzard Entertainment unfortunately does not provide a software development kit (SDK) for fans who want to develop mods for its games. We've decided to help bring modding into the larger mainstream Diablo community now by providing a great resource for finding mods and resources to develop your own.
