Sissy: With the unfortunate (and hopefully temporary) demise of sweRTCW, the movie pickings were a little slim this time around. However, we still managed to pull a pair of videos for all you hard core film buffs out there!
Eggbert: Or for people with nothing better to do, like Sissy.
Sissy: I have plenty to do! Like uhm... things... and stuff...
Eggbert: That's what I thought. I, on the other hand, will be getting my tux fitted for the Academy Awards. I'll be accompanying Kate Winslet again this year. Who are you taking Sissy, your mother again?
Sissy: Errr, I think we have a video to discuss here. Let's get on with the show. Today we took a look at Aliens vs Predatorz Part I, but it looks like the series will probably end there.
Eggbert: Oh boohoo, no Part II? How can I carry on?
Sissy: As usual we'll ignore your sarcasm and move along... AvP sported some quality graphics, nice intro and some fun effects. While I didn't really like the song chosen for the video, it was fairly well suited to the movie itself, so I'd give the flick a boner up in that department.
Eggbert: You thought the effects were "fun"? If you find epileptic seisures to be fun then more power to you. But I found them to be a bit annoying. The blur effect lasted far too long in spots, and there was some annoying flashing here and there that made me a tad dizzy. I concur in other areas though, music didn't suck entirely, graphics were crisp and clean and the intro sort of reminded me of Reservoir Dogs for some reason. Now there's a song he SHOULD have used for the movie.
Sissy: I think it's safe to say that siLc will not be attending the Oscars this year, but all in all a decent movie worthy of your bandwidth and time. I'll toss it a bone!
Eggbert: I'd toss Kate Winslet a bone! Did I mention I'm taking her to the Oscars? Make sure you have mumsy home by midnight, Sissy!
Sissy: We saved the better of the two movies for last this week. Personally, I always tend to favour RtCW videos. ET is great, but RtCW was my first love.
Eggbert: I thought your first love was the palm sisters?
Sissy: Ha-ha, you're such a riot Egghead. Ignore the fat zombie beside me, let's talk about "Remember", a sweet honey of a Wolf movie that RtCW and video fans won't want to miss out on. The first thing that you'll notice is that the intro is in Letterbox style, I thought that was pretty fresh. The opening music also grabbed me instantly, I knew it was familiar but it wasn't until the credits that I saw it was the theme music from the game Black & White. If I had one wish for this video, it would be that they would have stuck with the B&W tunes.
Eggbert: Oh great, now I feel like playing Black & White. Just forget I'm here while I get this baby installed.
Sissy: Trust me, I always try to forget you're here. Anyway, back to the video.. Intro, very cool. Music, very cool. Effects, not too much flash 'n trash, a nice balance so that it gives the movie some flair, but doesn't overwhelm the viewer. The graphics were pretty clean, I wouldn't give it a perfect score there, but it would be fairly high up. Unfortunately the scenes didn't blend seemlessly, but that's down to preference and I don't think it distracted from the overall quality of the video.
Eggbert: Did I mention I'm taking Kate Winslet to the Oscars?
Sissy: *ignore* If you're going to download one movie this month, I'd say that Remember should be the one. But like we mentioned at the start of today's column, the pickings have been slim the past couple of weeks. Regardless, I still think this was a great flick and I'm giving it a big 'ole boner and a half!
Eggbert: Ditto. Did I mention I'm taking Kate Winslet to the Oscars?
