Sissy & Eggbert Review:
Sissy: This week we take a look at another Ultraviolet Productions video, mAx Chapter 3, starring mAx. We were first introduced to mAx back in December of 2004 with the release of mAx Chapter 1. Our review of the film was quite underwhelming. We felt it lacked the dazzling effects needed to make it in Wolfywood at the time, but what really nailed the coffin shut for us was the Eminem soundtrack. While I gave the movie one Bone Up, it left Eggbert rather limp and he gave the title one Bone Down.
Eggbert: The next time we caught up with mAx was with the release of mAx Chapter 2 in August, 2005. Clearly improvements had been made, as our review of Chapter 2 was glowing in comparison to the first film of the series. Words like "epic" were tossed around, and at the end of the day Sissy was fully erect for mAx, giving Chapter 2 two big Bones Up, while I gave it a stiffy and a half.
Sissy: Now we return to present day and the release of mAx Chapter 3. Was there any room for improvement after the masterpiece that was Chapter 2? Before even running the video I was impressed with the packaging. Ultraviolet Productions included a media player with the video. Don't you all get sick and tired sometimes trying to figure out which player is going to run this film and that film? Well no worries here. Already I'm loving these guys.
Eggbert: Get a room!
Sissy: Yeah, thanks for that 1990 comeback. The mAx Chapter 2 intro was short but sweet, featuring some of the sharpest and most vibrant graphics I've seen in a video in some time now. The intro musical accompaniment was great, giving off that "epic" feel that we love oh so much. Effects were perfectly balanced.
Eggbert: If you yammer on about the intro all day we'll never get out of here! I'm a happening zombie you know? I've got places to go and brains to eat!
Sissy: Yeah, yeah, stop interfering and you'll get out of here all the quicker.
Eggbert: *ZIP*
Sissy: Hey! That's my zipper. Ass. Alright, so let's cut to the meat and potatoes of the film then. Was the intro the best part of the flick or was there more good stuff to come? The action is certainly hardcore and fast paced, a must download for fans of frag highlight flicks. While the soundtrack may have included some decent tunes, it was impossible to enjoy them when combined with full blown in-game sound. Sadly, the two combined just sounded like a bunch of annoying noise. The effects were well done, and as mentioned previously, the graphics are fab!
Eggbert: *STILL ZIPPED*
Sissy: Get my zipper out of your damn mouth! Bottom line for mAx Chapter 3. It's pretty frag-o-licious, definitely worth a download for the action and great graphics alone. However, the in-game sound combined with music took away from the experience for me. Unfortunately I'm going to have to give this video lower marks than it's predecessor, mAx Chapter 2.
Eggbert: *UNZIPS* Here's your zipper back. I'm going to have to agree with you here, my brother, my friend.
Sissy: Why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden?
Eggbert: I kind of goobered on your zipper. But I still agree, I think I'll have to take Chapter 2 over Chapter 3. Although I will say that this video is not a complete failure and worth a watch for any fan of Wolfenstein frag movies.
Sissy: Indeed. So that's about all she wrote here! Go give Chapter 3 a viewing of your own! I don't think you'll regret it. However, if you are expecting an epic masterpiece then... don't. It's a good frag flick, but Chapter 3 probably won't be going down in the anals of video history.
Eggbert: HAHAHA you said anals.
Sissy: HAHAHA I know.
Eggbert: Let's blow this pop stand.
