Sissy: Good morning videophiles! This week saw a flurry of videos uploaded over at own-age.com. So many flicks that it was just impossible for us to select one. So we sort of had to close our eyes and just move the mouse around! It's going to be tough to beat out last week's Extreme Temperature, but this time we are going to take a look at yoyo's Duality 2. I assume there was a Duality 1, and the name sounds familiar but I don't recall taking a look at it before. This may weigh better on Duality 2, since we have nothing from yoyo's past to compare it to!
Eggbert: It's a bit of a big boy at over 400MB, but Sissy made me download it, so I guess I'll go ahead and watch it. Shhh, sometimes I just fake it. You girls know what I'm talking about.
Sissy: Oh what a big surprise that you've been faking it. Have another ham sandwich fat boy.
Eggbert: Okay, I know you're a bit angry with me right now, but there's no need to bring size into this! Besides, I'm not fat, I'm just big boned.
Sissy: Alright then, let's take a look at Duality 2! To kick things off, the intro was quite nice. It was short, but Yoyo brought us a nice introduction of the main players, and used effects quite well. Graphics quality of the video is looking good. Some good frags in there that were fun to watch. Plenty of gibs, can't have a frag flick without loads of gibs!
Eggbert: Mmm, gibs.
Sissy: Mild effects were used throughout the video, no overkill, but at the same time nothing overly special. When all is said and done, this was a 12 minute and 30 second well-produced frag flick, which is fantastic for people who enjoy frag flicks! But (yes, there is always a "but"!) I would have liked to see something a little more in there. Perhaps a snazzy intermission filled with great FX.
Eggbert: Me likey FX.
Sissy: Basically the frags and the graphics quality saved this picture from the bin. Without the quality action I don't think I could have watched the entire video. Kudos to Yoyo for one of the better frag videos I've seen a while, but if there is ever a Duality 3, I would love to see a little more creativity going into the video. Something to better distinguish the movie from all of the other frag highlight videos out there.
Eggbert: The ending also just stops dead and moves straight into the credits and greetings. I felt like Yoyo just left us hanging. In future it would be nice to see a more fleshed out ending to put a proper cap on it.
Sissy: Wow, you really did watch the video! The final thing I would like to comment on is the soundtrack. The music was rather generic to start off with, then moves into some older songs and metal. To be honest I didn't really feel the music suited the video very well. And unfortunately Yoyo employed one of my pet peeves in the soundtrack... in-game sound over the music in parts. Yuk.
Eggbert: One boner up here.
Sissy: You know, I hate it when we rate videos the same, but I'm going to have to go with Eggbert here. I don't see myself being able to give this one more than one boner up, but I also can't see myself giving it less. So one up here! Until next time this is Sissy and Eggbert saying... you guessed it... go to the movies!
