Co-host of "Sissy & Eggbert", Eggbert is a Pulitzer Prize-winning Wolfenstein film critic and has been working
for the Zombie Sun-Times since 1967. Eggbert is the author of 15 books, including "Great Wolfenstein Movies,"
"Eggbert's Wolfenstein Movie Yearbook," "I Hated, Hated, HATED This Wolfenstein Movie," the Norton anthology "Eggbert's Book of Wolfenstein Film," and the best-selling "Eggbert's Bigger Little Wolfenstein Movie Glossary".
Sissy: Welcome back! Our latest video review is for ReavEr, created by 4oohz, a person with a fairly lengthy list of video releases for Wolfenstein. The latest weighs in at 275MB, but there is also a lower quality version available for the bandwidth impaired.
Eggbert: 4oohz really puts out.
Sissy: Pardon?
Eggbert: Videos, I mean he puts out lots of videos.
Sissy: Err right, okay.
Eggbert: Meh.
Sissy: Kicking things off with the intro, 4oohz did a very nice job with that. I enjoyed it. Graphics quality was ace, the effects were well-balanced and it looked very professional overall.
Eggbert: Meh.
Sissy: Going into the movie itself, the action was fast paced so it didn't get boring, effects in the movie are kept to a minimal but added in seemlessly where needed. Again, the graphics are very nice and sharp, even in the low quality version of the video. Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't have an issue with the soundtrack. Sounds consist of in-game over top of music. When it was just music playing without lyrics it was rather nice really. The music was just sort of a whisper in the background. But when lyrics were added over top of the in-game sounds it gave me a feeling of confusion and a bit of a headache. The closing credits were also quite nice.
Eggbert: Meh.
Sissy: Regardless of my personal soundtrack pet peeves, I will say that I believe ReavEr is an above average frag highlights video. So if you're a Wolfenstien videophile you'll probably want to add this to your viewing list!
Eggbert: Meh.
